With a baby on the way, and the second bedroom going from office/guest room to office/nursery, we needed to figure out a new place for guests to go in the future. Over the last few months I’ve been doing a ton of research on sleeper sofas, trying to find one that was stylish, but still comfortable (which is not the easiest thing in the world!) Did you even know there were now sleeper sofas with inflatable mattresses inside? I didn’t!
Either way, I figured since we desperately needed a new sofa, we might as well replace the rug we had for the last 5 years since for some reason it never stopped shedding (normally they should stop between 3-6 months after purchasing), and a more functional coffee table. While I loved the coffee table we already had from MASH Studios with the hidden storage inside, I was ready for a change. So I teamed up with West Elm to redo this space in preparation for Baby B’s arrival.
This coffee table has been a lifesaver in my last few months of pregnancy because the top pops up to be a great desk for me since I lost any potential desk space I used to have in our office – now nursery. I can also store a ton of stuff inside and keep it all hidden and away from little prying hands.
I had been eyeing the Bliss sofa for a while, but was extra happy to know it came in a sleeper as well…you’d never know by looking at it! The QuickShip fabric it already came in was the perfect shade of grey so it was an easy decision. And the dotted carpet I fell in love with immediately, even though I had no idea what it looked like in person, but luckily it was exactly what I wanted. It adds a nice graphic punch and really lightens up the floor…best of all, it hardly sheds! Yay for not having to vacuum the floors every 2 seconds! I was actually having a slight struggle over what pillows to pair with it, I remembered Cotton & Flax‘s designs and they were the ideal pattern pair. It all pulled together quite nicely!
